UC Convenes for the Proposed Ordinance on Research and Innovation Policies in the City

The University of the Cordilleras’ Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (UC-InTTO), along with TARAKI-CAR, and various city stakeholders recently convened to participate in a public consultation regarding Proposed Ordinance No. 0074-22. This ordinance, spearheaded by Baguio City Councilor and SK Federation Baguio President Hon. Levy Lloyd Orcales, introduces a transformative city policy focused on fostering research and innovation within Baguio City.

The ordinance proposes the establishment of an Innovation Alliance that brings together the City Government of Baguio, non-government organizations (NGOs), and higher educational institutions (HEIs). This alliance seeks to create a structured partnership that strengthens and integrates the research and innovation efforts of various organizations, leveraging their combined expertise and resources to address community challenges more effectively.

Through this ordinance, Baguio City aims to cultivate a collaborative environment that supports local problem-solving initiatives and advances sustainable development, empowering and strengthening the current research and innovation programs in the city.
