The University of the Cordilleras Main Campus became a hub of technological excitement as DevFest Baguio 2023 unfolded on Saturday. Organized by Google Developer Group (GDG) Baguio, the event attracted a vibrant crowd of College of Information Technology and Computer Science (CITCS) students and tech enthusiasts eager to immerse themselves in the ever-evolving world of technology.
The festival, themed “Unleash Innovation, Ignite Collaboration,” offered participants a chance to exchange ideas and ignite their passion for innovation. The day kicked off with inspiring keynote speeches from industry visionaries who are shaping the future of technology. They shared insights on emerging trends and the importance of adaptability in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
Attendees were spoiled for choice with diverse tech tracks covering artificial intelligence, web development, mobile applications, cloud computing, and more. “The sessions were incredibly insightful,” said Aisha Raja, a CITCS student. “It’s not every day you get to learn about AI and cloud computing from experts in the field.”
Hands-on workshops provided an interactive learning experience, allowing participants to roll up their sleeves and dive into coding and development exercises. Led by professionals, these workshops catered to both beginners and advanced learners. “The workshops were a highlight for me,” shared Allen Raye Pal-iwen, another student. “Being able to apply what we learned in real-time was invaluable.”
Innovative demos dotted the venue, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and offering a glimpse into the future of tech. The virtual reality demos captivated attendees and sparked lively discussions about potential applications and implications.
