UC CITCS Strengthens Digital Edge with Expanded Mac Facilities

Baguio City, Philippines – August 28, 2025– The University of the Cordilleras (UC) has further strengthened its technology infrastructure with the installation of an additional iMac laboratory in the College of Information Technology and Computer Science (CITCS). With this upgrade, CITCS now has two dedicated Mac lab rooms, giving more students the opportunity to access industry-standard tools and resources.

The new iMac lab is designed not only to support programming and application development but also to enhance overall academic utilities and creative work. Equipped with high-performance Apple desktops, the facility can handle a wide range of tasks, from software development to multimedia projects such as video editing, animation, and graphic design.

The additional Mac lab also creates more opportunities for collaborative learning. Students can work on group projects, develop cross-platform applications, and gain hands-on experience with technologies that mirror those used in professional settings. Faculty members are also expected to maximize the new facility for specialized courses, workshops, and training sessions, further enhancing the academic offerings of the college.

This expansion demonstrates UC’s commitment to providing a modern and future-ready learning environment. By continuously upgrading its facilities, the university ensures that CITCS students are better prepared for global opportunities in technology, software engineering, and digital innovation.
