Baguio City, Philippines, September 8, 2025 — The University of the Cordilleras, College of Information Technology and Computer Science (UC CITCS), proudly celebrates the achievement of Ms. Janela Andal Recio, a second-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology student, who was crowned Miss Baguio 2025 during the grand coronation night held on September 6, 2025.
Outshining twelve other candidates, Janela impressed the judges and audience with her intelligence, grace, and confidence, qualities that reflect the excellence nurtured within UC CITCS.
A consistent Dean’s List awardee, Janela has demonstrated that academic excellence can thrive alongside leadership and community engagement. She has previously earned several prestigious titles, including Miss CITCS 2024, Miss University of the Cordilleras 2024, and Mutya ng National PRISAA 2024, 1st Runner-Up. She also currently holds the title of Miss Galiacayo Camilliana 2025, further affirming her status as a well-rounded student who embodies both scholarly excellence and meaningful advocacy.
Janela’s victory marks a historic moment for the college, as she becomes the second UC CITCS student to be crowned Miss Baguio, following the success of Alana Monica Rhedey, who won the title in 2019. This achievement reaffirms the college’s tradition of cultivating not only industry-ready professionals, but also confident, community-oriented leaders who make an impact beyond the classroom.
