CITCS Welcomes 2,200 Students for School Year 2025–2026

Baguio City, Philippines – September 9, 2025 – The University of the Cordilleras College of Information Technology and Computer Science (UC-CITCS) officially opened School Year 2025–2026 with its College Orientation held on September 9, 2025 at the UC Gymnasium.

The event warmly welcomed both new and returning students, introducing new learners to the College’s vision, mission, and core values, and reaffirming these ideals among continuing students. It also provided essential information on academic policies, student support services, and upcoming activities for the term. More importantly, the orientation fostered a stronger connection among students, faculty, and administrators which reflects UC’s continuing commitment to nurture an innovative and inclusive learning environment.

This term, CITCS proudly welcomed 2,200 students, marking another milestone in the College’s growth and reaffirming its role in developing future-ready professionals in Information Technology and Computer Science.

Faculty members, administrators, and student leaders joined the program to share their insights and encouragement. Speakers highlighted the importance of academic excellence, discipline, collaboration, and active participation in the College’s wide range of organizations and extracurricular opportunities.

Beyond preparing students for the year ahead, the orientation inspired them to engage fully in both academic and co-curricular pursuits. The event reinforced CITCS’s enduring values of innovation, integrity, and community, which continue to define its leadership in technology and computer science education.

SDG Alignment

The UC CITCS College Orientation for School Year 2025–2026 supports Sustainable Development Goal 4, Quality Education, particularly Target 4.3, by promoting inclusive access to quality higher education, and Target 4.7, by reinforcing values-based education, responsible citizenship, and lifelong learning.

The activity also advances Sustainable Development Goal 10, Reduced Inequalities, specifically Target 10.2, by fostering an inclusive academic environment that supports the social and academic integration of all students.
