The University of the Cordilleras (UC) has officially secured a spot among the Top 10 teams in the Food and Agribusiness category for the HABI 4.0 Workshop. This recognition is part of the 2026 National Innovation Day Celebration, which showcases AI-enabled solutions designed to address critical national challenges.

In recognition of this achievement, the team was invited to participate in the Huddle, Analyze, Build, Innovate (HABI) 4.0 Workshop, held on April 28, 2026, at the Diamond Hotel Manila. Organized by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and the National Innovation Council (NIC), the workshop served as a high-level design thinking intensive for 12 elite participating teams per sector.
Representing UC was Team ABVLNT, featuring student innovators Radge Daryll A. Carbonel, Yasmien Jen C. Gayao, and Gerryle R. Martinez, under the guidance of faculty coaches Zyra Yell A. Fagyan and Efraim Jedidia Pangan. Throughout the workshop, the students engaged in collaborative sessions with expert mentors and industry coaches to refine their AI-enabled solution, “CO2-“. This mobile application utilizes Computer Vision to provide real-time transparency regarding Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions in the food supply chain.

By automating complex Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data into a simple “scan-and-see” tool, the team demonstrated how AI can empower consumers to make eco-friendly purchasing decisions while giving local agribusinesses a measurable competitive edge. The project is strategically aligned with SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), supporting the Philippine EPR Act of 2022 through localized, data-driven climate solutions.
