BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — The University of the Cordilleras (UC), through its College of Information Technology and Computer Science (CITCS), has officially announced the launch of its newest academic program: the Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence Systems (BS AIS).
The program is set to be implemented starting the 1st Trimester of School Year 2026–2027, specifically catering to incoming first-year college students. This addition to the CITCS curriculum marks a significant milestone in UC’s mission to remain at the forefront of technological education and to meet the growing global demand for AI specialists.
SDG Alignment
The introduction of the BS in Artificial Intelligence Systems aligns strongly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, particularly Indicator 9.5.1, which emphasizes enhancing scientific research and upgrading the technological capabilities of industrial sectors. By launching this program, UC is actively contributing to the development of a highly skilled workforce capable of driving innovation through AI-driven technologies. This initiative highlights the university’s role in fostering a sustainable and inclusive technological ecosystem.
