UC CITCS Students Carbonell and Vidad Received Best Paper Award at International Research Conference in Bangkok, Thailand.

Isabel Carbonell and Princess Joy Vidad, students from the University of the Cordilleras – College of Information Technology and Computer Science (CITCS), were honored with the Best Paper Award at The 22nd International Conference on Computing and Information Technology, held in Bangkok, Thailand, on May 14-15, 2026.

The students earned the top distinction for their research paper titled “Adaptive Statistical Round Robin (ASRR): Statistical Measures and Conditional Logic to Optimize System Responsiveness.” Developed under the mentorship of Don Harl Malabanan, CITCS Faculty for the CCS6 Operating System subject, the study introduces a sophisticated algorithm designed to enhance system efficiency in an era of rapid technological change.

The conference highlights cutting-edge solutions to complex societal and technical problems. This event was organized by the Council of IT Deans of Thailand (CITT) and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), in collaboration with various international partner institutions.

By successfully presenting their work on this global stage, the students underscore the importance of optimized system logic in supporting the next generation of high-speed innovation.
